I paid around $520 for this microscope. It is decent and the built in lighting helps. I'm also blissful it came with a spare lamp bulb, dust cloak, and five prepared slides. The images are certain using the 10x and 15x eyepieces --- however at 600x, things initiate to gather blurry but calm decent ---at 1500x - forget it, unless I'm using this thing contaminated (I am fresh to using a microscope), it is too blurry to really form things out. Sometimes I can invent things out a bit, but things are barely visible at this level. It is a sturdy microscope and seems relatively easy to expend. - Oh one of the five prepared slides it came with was broken; I didn't bother to ask for a fresh one. This is my first microscope that I bought for personal research as a hobbyist, so I don't have anything to compare with but have been satisfied with it so far.
